Artesian Wells – The Lifeline of Iraq

Water is precious in Iraq.  Rivers are shrinking, and rainfall is increasingly unreliable.  Artesian wells provide access to deep, stable, and clean water sources.
They supply drinking water, help farmers irrigate their fields, and strengthen communities during droughts.  Each well improves lives while protecting nature—less water taken from rivers means more water remains for rivers and lakes.
In Iraq, water means life, and artesian wells help keep that life flowing.
The project is implemented with financial support from the Slovak Official Development Assistance program SlovakAid, in cooperation with the partner Slovenská Charita.
