How Artesian Wells Work and Why We Drill Up to 300 Meters

Water is essential for life, yet in areas such as Qasrok and Shekhan, it is very scarce. This is why we use artesian wells, which allow us to reach deeper underground water layers.

An artesian well is created by drilling into underground layers where water naturally accumulates.

In our project, we drill up to 300 meters because the region receives very little rainfall and has no reliable surface water sources. This depth allows us to provide clean and reliable water, even during dry periods.

Every meter we drill means more people gain access to water, improved health, and better living conditions. The wells are drilled with the support of the official Slovak development assistance program SlovakAid and the Slovak Catholic Charity.
