In many parts of Iraqi Kurdistan, safe wastewater management is a serious challenge. Without proper sewage systems and treatment plants, polluted water flows into rivers and soil, threatening public health, the environment, and the quality of life in local communities.
The Gran Bio Wastewater Treatment Plant project offers a practical and sustainable solution:
· It treats wastewater from urban and industrial areas and safely returns clean water to the environment.
· It reduces the risk of waterborne diseases.
· It improves hygiene and living conditions across the region.
Through the implementation of the Gran Bio project, access to safe water improves while sustainability and environmental protection are strengthened. The project is carried out with the support of SlovakAid and the Slovak company ASIO.
