“Renovation of an Artesian Well in Bersavy Underway”
We are pleased to announce the start of the renovation of an artesian well in the village of Bersavy, made possible through the generous financial support of the Bishops’ Conference of Slovakia and our partners, the Slovak Catholic Charity.
This project involves repairing the well and replacing a pump at a depth of approximately 200 meters—an intricate process requiring specialized equipment and expertise. Given the well’s depth, the work demands advanced techniques such as drilling and the use of heavy-duty tools to extract and replace the pump, which weighs several hundred kilograms.
Despite the technical challenges, this renovation will provide internally displaced persons (IDPs) and local communities with reliable access to safe drinking water, significantly improving their quality of life.
