School attendance and fluid intake are mutually important

School attendance and fluid intake are mutually important and affect student health, performance and achievement. Adequate fluid intake maintains hydration, which is essential for proper physical functioning, and supports concentration, memory and overall health. In addition, adequate fluid intake also improves cognitive function, which in turn improves students’ academic performance. Well-hydrated students also have higher physical energy. For these reasons, together with our partners, we are working on projects with the aim of ensuring the supply of drinking water. In the primary school in the village of Grepan, a filter cooling device was installed so that pupils can cool down with drinking water in the season of summer when temperatures reach up to 50 °C. The project was successfully implemented. Thanks to financial support from the official development aid program of Slovakia, SlovakAid.
