In 2021 to 2022, we implemented the construction of a well in the village of Bersavy, which is located 30 minutes away from the town of Zaxo. This village and its inhabitants suffered from a lack of water, but thanks to financial support from the Development Assistance Program of Slovakia, SlovakAid and thanks to our partner, Slovak Catholic Charity, they now have enough water. We visited the village to see the current situation of it, how the well works and what is the situation of the local and displaced residents. It’s great to see that our work and help have a meaning, people and their situation with a lack of drinking water is stabilized and their health has improved, even many of them have started growing crops in their gardens. Unfortunately, to this day, many residents still have anxiety and fear about the lack of water, even though they already have water, but that takes time.
