The village of Srechka is located in the Nineveh Governorate in the State of Iraq, where Kurds live, who welcomed the IDP community from the Sinjar region to their village, which had to leave their homes in 2014 during the invasion of the so-called Islamic State. The village of Srechka itself was under the rule of Daesh, after the liberation of the village they were able to return, but the infrastructure of the village was disrupted – except for water.
We have already implemented the construction of a well in the above village, which provided parts of the village with a source of drinking water. Thanks to the financial support of the Bishops’ Conference of Slovakia. KBS also supported a new project to support the development of water infrastructure in the village by restoring part of the water pipeline in the village, many thanks. We also thank our partner, Slovak Catholic Charity for their support and implementation of the project.
